Totally about 683,000 tourists visited and participated in 30 theme activities organized by 11 municipal parks of Beijing and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture to greet the year of 2019 during the three-day New Year’s Day holiday, according to Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks.
Among the parks, the Summer’s Palace, Tiantan Park and Taoranting Park ranked the top three in tourists volume, reaching 127,000, 110,000 and 102,000 respectively.
On January 1, 2019, the city’s parks and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture welcomed 256,000 visitors.
Fragrant Hills Park and Jingshan Park both saw a marked increasing of visitors who chose to ascended high to greet the New Year.
Many visitors welcomed the first light of 2019 at the Wanchunting in Jingshan Park, the commanding height and also the best scenic lookout on the city’s central axis.
On the same day, before 6:00, many visitors were waiting at the gate of Fragrant Hills Park. As of 9:00, the park had embraced 2,000 visitors to welcome the New Year.
